APTLI welcomes students from varied backgrounds to apply for summer study. Applicants do not need to currently be in an academic course of study to be eligible for the program.
Please note that any applicants under the age of 18 will be required to go through a special review process prior to any admissions decisions by APTLI. Interested minor applicants are encouraged to reach out to the APTLI office as early in the application cycle as possible.
Once at APTLI, students will be enrolled in two semesters of language study. Students must receive a passing grade in their first semester at APTLI (in either a 1st, 3rd, or 5th semester course) in order to move to the second half of the program.
High school juniors and seniors who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program may apply for admission to a WISLI Institute. Eligible minors are subject to additional application procedures that serve to demonstrate their potential to succeed in a college-level intensive course. We encourage interested applicants to reach out to their program of interest (APTLI Office) prior to submitting an online application form to inquire about these additional application procedures. Processing of a minor application can take several weeks, and applicants should plan accordingly.
As per UW-Madison policy and FERPA regulations, all application materials should be prepared and submitted by the student personally. All communications with the the program office should also be undertaken by the student personally. We will not and cannot communicate with a parent or guardian regarding a student’s interest or status in the program.
